Chrome or 'Russian' Diopside is a gemstone of vivid green - often prefered over Emeralds for the clarity of its colour. Most of the world's supply come from mines in remote Siberia and the harsh climate there makes mining in the frozen ground impossible for all but a few months of the year. As a result this rare gemstone is sought after by collectors worldwide.
